Tipped for the top by Kevin Keegan, Flood's career seems to be taking off, with a move to Celtic.
Dubliner Flood made his bow with Manchester City in a UEFA Cup tie against TNS in 2003.
A wiry right-winger with good dribbling skills, he scored his only goal for the club a year later in a League Cup game against Barnsley and was tipped as a star of the future by boss Kevin Keegan.
But he failed to kick on at City after spending time on loan at Rochdale and Coventry, and was allowed to join Cardiff for £200,000 in the summer of 2006.
Opportunities were again limited, however, with just five starts in his first season and the former Republic of Ireland U21 international was allowed to spend the 2007/08 season on loan at Dundee United where he featured in the Tangerines’ side that lost the League Cup final to Rangers. Was subsequently handed a second season-long loan deal for the 2008/09 campaign.
After returning to Dundee Utd for the season, Willo Flood continued to impress. His last game for Utd came against Celtic in the League Cup Semi-Final, in which he missed the crucial penalty which saw Dundee Utd crash out of the cup.
The following day Flood signed for Celtic permanently cutting short his loan spell at Dundee Utd.
