Pint-sized Irish international with Champions League experience before he moved to England. Useful when he has the ball at his feet
He may stand just 5ft 6ins, but the Republic of Ireland international has been an immense figure since joining Blackpool in August 2007 after a successful loan spell.
A gifted ball player, Hoolahan pulls the strings at the heart of midfield and so good was his form that during the 2007-08 season, he was linked with no fewer than 10 other Championship clubs.
He started his career with Shelbourne in the League of Ireland, featuring in their 2004-05 Champions League qualifiers before a spell in the Scottish Premier League with Livingston followed. He made his Republic of Ireland debut in the friendly win against Colombia at Craven Cottage in May 2008.
