Midfielder

Having failed to get in the team at both Spurs and Villa, Routledge will hope to rebuild his reputation at QPR

A player who has failed to live up to his reputation, Routledge burst onto the scene with first club Crystal Palace, where his trickery, pace and directness from the right flank helped the Eagles to the Premiership in 2004.

While the south Londoners went straight back down, he remained a top-flight player following a £1.25m move to Tottenham in July 2005.

A broken foot on his debut set the tone and with the emergence of Aaron Lennon, Routledge found himself shipped out to Portsmouth and then Fulham on loan.

Martin O’Neill took him to Villa in a £1.25m move in January 2008. Sadly for Routledge the move never worked out with the winger receiving very limited playing time.

Following a loan move to cardiff at the beginning of the 2008/2009 season, Routledge joined QPR for an undisclosed fee during the 2009 winter transfer window.

Sad to see him leave Cardiff. Quick feet and electric pace. Someone to hit the by-line for a change rather than Cardiff relying on a left footer cutting in from the right (it was becoming too telegraphed)

Brilliant for Cardiff, fantastic skills really quick and not afraid to run at the defence really hopes he signs on a permanent he could easily start for any championship side. Fantastic player

Could still be good at Championship level but is in the shadow of Young, Maloney, and Agbonlahor. Needs another move.
