Roy Hodgson will be hoping Kallio can make more of an impact than his previous Finnish import Jari Litmanen, who played 0 minutes for Fulham
Whites boss Roy Hodgson made the versatile 30-year-old his third major summer 2008 signing, just 24 hours after completing the capture of Mark Schwarzer from Middlesbrough.
The Finland international put pen to paper on a two-year deal, joining from Swiss side Young Boys after a loan spell at Craven Cottage that began in the January transfer window. Kallio, who has 15 caps for his country, also played under Hodgson during his spell as Finland coach, enjoying some impressive performances during the Euro 2008 qualifiers.
Able to play at left-back or centre-half, he was previously with HJK Helskini and Molde FK.
