Midfielder

Despite being built like a brick 'out house', Huddlestone is actually as strong in the tackle as Dr Gregory House...

The best passer of the ball at Tottenham, it was Huddlestone’s effortless ability to find team-mates from five or 50 yards that convinced former Spurs Sporting Director Frank Arnesen to splash out £2.5m on the 19-year-old Derby County defender/midfielder in 2005.

But despite his obvious ability, Huddlestone’s progress has been hampered by a lack of mobility, an issue that was addressed when Juande Ramos took charge of Spurs and ordered him to lose weight.

Having reportedly shed half a stone, the 6ft 3in Nottingham-born player returned to the team much improved, a fact recognised by England boss Fabio Capello, who called him into the squad to face the USA and Trinidad and Tobago in 2008.

his display at the back against Burnley this season was top class. His ability to find the right man with the right pass gave us lots of impetus going forward and our counter attack was better than it has been for a long time. Really starting to grow into an all round player.

Big lad with a great pass and can tackle, just not the most mobile player.

i like him a lot, but he needs to do more to be a regular, for such a huge player, he isnt very 'physical'

got great strength and passing to be in the premierleague. if he worked on his fitness he could be a regular for the national team.
