Not many players leave Old Trafford and go on to do well - but the American No.1 seems to be making a good fist of it at Goodison
America’s No.1 shot-stopper – the first man from the US to pick up an FA Cup winner’s medal – followed Phil Neville’s path from Old Trafford to Goodison Park in May 2006.
Signed initially on a year-long loan after the arrival of Edwin van der Sar blocked his progress, he was installed as first-choice custodian after the retirement of Nigel Martyn, and his solid performances impressed enough to make the switch permanent with a five-year deal in February 2007. Just a few months later, he had cause to celebrate once more as the USA beat Mexico to win the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
