Tommy Spurr is a certainly a neat little player, he has bags of potential and is fairly reliable. He's young and comfortable on the ball. He's attracted some interest and he's got a bright future.

I've got a lot of time for Spurr, he's got a great attitude, great work rate and he is rapidly progressing as a player. He's got bags of potential and Laws obviously has a lot of faith in him. Unfortunately he's prone to getting caught out of position and struggles against wingers who run at him with pace. He's not the tallest of players and for this reason probably won't ever return to centre-back but I can see him becoming a very good full-back at this level.

He's reliable in a tackle and anticipates well which makes up for a slight lack in physical stature. I'd like to see him at right-back, his left-foot isn't terrible but he's obviously no natural left-footer.

Overall, a quality player with room to improve but showing stacks of potential and possessing a good disciplinary record and temperament to boot.

Two years ago we were struggling with injuries (aren't we always?) and had to play a promising young centre-half out of position at full-back. Frankly, he struggled and was often picked on as the weak spot in our defence but we had no choice but to keep persevering with him. Since then he has blossomed into a terrific full-back and was, without doubt, our best player last season. He's quick enough to avoid being caught out by pacy wingers and tall enough to win almost everything in the air but going forwardhe has been a revelation. He has so much energy and enthusiasm that he's always willing to bomb forward (and bomb back again), his pace can take him around defenders, he crosses well and his passing is so good he hardly ever gives the ball away. At the moment he's a more complete player than Mark Beevers.

Promising player, although not as good as Beevers.
