McManus has quickly established himself as Celtic's defensive rock, picking up the Celtic captaincy and several Scotland caps on the way
Celtic’s youngest captain since Billy McNeill has formed the foundation around which manager Gordon Strachan has built the club’s success in recent seasons.
A product of the club’s famed youth system, McManus was given his debut by then-Celtic boss Martin O’Neill in a 4-0 win over Hibernian in March 2004, and has since gone on to establish himself as a centre-half in the finest traditions of the club.
The tall defender is now a regular in the Scotland side and has been a virtual ever-present in the club’s recent league and cup triumphs.
McManus has also been an invaluable presence at set pieces, providing a valuable source of goals for Strachan’s side.
