The former Spurs man has sealed his place down the Blues right flank, as well as securing an international spot for Ireland
Dublin-born Kelly joined Spurs as a trainee, making his first-team debut in 2003. An all-action full-back, strong in the tackle, good in the air and a willing option when going forward, he was initially an understudy to Stephen Carr, then Paul Stalteri, but he still managed 37 starts for the club and also featured at centre-half when called upon.
He moved to the Blues in June 2006 for an initial fee of £750,000 and has become a fixture in the side, occasionally featuring at left-back. He is a full Republic of Ireland international.
