Striker

Having been released by Gordon Strachan at Southampton, McDonald has bounced back and is now a key part of Strachan's side at Parkhead

The lifelong Celtic fan may be Australian but Scotland’s leading goalscorer in the 2007/08 season, will have brought a smile to his Scottish parents' faces with his exploits in the SPL since he joined the Old Firm giants from Motherwell. McDonald hit the heights in his first season at Celtic Park but he has tasted the lows as well as the highs that football can offer. He once spent two unremarkable seasons at Southampton before signing for struggling Wimbledon in 2003. Those days must now seem a long way off for McDonald, who recently signed a new five-year deal at Parkhead.

typical goal poacher, you wonder what he adds and then he scores that winning goal. i think he will settle with celtic for the rest of his career, he will continue to dominate the spl but will not move to the premierleague as he seems like one of those players content with his own standing atm.

Couldn't hit the side of a barn for Australia.
A tap-in king who feeds off the scraps.
Opinion strongly divided in Australia on the green-and-white dwarf...
