Brown's never been afraid of putting himself about, but was the victim of one of the worst challanges ever seen, by Benfica's Gilles Binya
One of Scottish football’s brightest young creative talents, Brown created history when he moved from the green half of Edinburgh to the green half of Glasgow in May 2007.
His fee of £4.4m represented the biggest transfer fee paid by one SPL club to another, with Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwel describing Brown as the country’s most talented player.
The former Hibernian trainee brought an energy and creativity to the Celtic, and Scotland, midfields and his energetic displays were crucial to both sides’ success in 2007-08, although Strachan will be keen for the player to improve a dire disciplinary record.
