Midfielder

Picked up his label as the new Zidane in 2004 when he starred in France's win at the European U17 Championship

With Alexander Hleb trotting off to Barcelona, Le Professor Wenger had a tricky winger sized hole to fill in this technically gifted midfield. Enter stage right: Samir Nasri.

The French midfielder joined the Gunners during the summer of 2008 from
Olympique Marseille for an undisclosed fee.

Much was expected of the swash buckling agent provocateur at Euro 2008, but along with the rest of the French team he as largely disappointing. However, his talent is unquestionable.

The dimunutive Nasri was voted as the French Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year for 2006/07 and was also Olympique Marseille's Player of the Year for 2007. During his four years at the Stade Velodrome he made 145 appearances, scoring 11 goals.

Upon signing Nasri Wenger said: "He is young, quick and technically an outstanding player. He has shown great potential with his performances for Marseille and the French national team over the past two seasons and he will add great quality to our squad." Can’t argue with that – Arsene knows.

This young man is really impressive. He could rise to become one of the premier playmakers in the world. Im sure he will pretty soon be Arsenals undisputed best player.

At home, devastating scorer but needs to do it in away matches too.

If we ever get a defensive mid-fielder to replace Flamini than Fabregas and Nasri(and maybe walcott if he ever adds a final ball) will keep defenses awake at night. Nasri is such a silky and smart player, but most of his energy gets wasted chasing people around because of the lack of work-rate beside Fabregas.
