The local lad continues to steadily progress through the Bulls' ranks, but League One football may prove too much, too soon
Hereford born and bred, Sam has steadily progressed through the ranks at Edgar Street since beginning his career in the Bulls’ youth team.
After being rewarded with a first-team contract in 2004, the diminutive but hard-hitting midfielder made his league debut for Hereford in a televised Conference encounter against Stevenage Borough two years later and finally made his Football League bow in the 2007/08 season in a 2-1 win at Barnet.
A tough tackler and decent distributor of the ball, as well as being comfortable at either full-back position or anywhere across the midfield, mean Gwynne has the versatility to succeed.
But, with United now plying their trade another league higher, it remains to be seen how much action he will be given.
