Striker

Without doubt one of the most talented players in the Premier League, injury seems to be the only thing standing between him and greatness

Comfortable out wide or in his favoured position behind the main striker, Van Persie has the potential to be a talisman for the Gunners – if only he could steer clear of injury.

Signed from Feyenoord for £3m in the summer of 2004, he really started to make an impact in 2006-07.

With a fearsome left foot and fantastic close control, it was his trademark curling shots that caught the eye.

But a broken metatarsal, picked up celebrating a goal against Manchester United in January 2007, ended his campaign, while in 2007-08 a knee injury restricted him to just 13 Premier League starts (seven goals).

Best left foot in the world, he can also shoot with his right foot, and with great power. What I personally like most about him are his free kicks which instead of trying to curl it around or over the wall, he just smashes them causing the crossbar to rattle and nearly make the goal move from it's place. He's got the trademark-making-room sort of move which is lovely to the eye and all in all has taken the game to his hands this past season and scored goals which saved Arsenal. Brilliant player.

Struggles to form partnerships, is very inconsistent and never going to be a prolific scorer yet he has a spark about him that is able to change a game in an instant.
