The versatile Robert Purdie joined Darlington at the start of the 2007/08 season, to help the squad out with various injury struggles
Originally an attacking central midfielder, Purdie has gone on to establish himself as one of the most versatile players around, being used in every position except goal and central defence during five seasons with Hereford.
He made over 100 league appearances for the Bulls before seeking a fresh challenge with the Quakers for the 2007/08 campaign, with his versatility proving vital to a Darlington squad that became engulfed with injuries as the season progressed.
An accomplished penalty-taker, Purdie converted 10 out of 11 spot-kicks during his time at Edgar Street but failed to get off the mark during his first term at Darlo.
