Defender

When fit, the German giant is a ferocious striker of the ball. Just ask Alan Shearer...

The giant defender was snapped up by Boro for £6m in August 2006 but his time at The Riverside has been blighted by a series of serious injuries.

The powerful centre-back began his career at Chelsea, who had been monitoring his progress as a junior at German club Union Berlin.

Huth made his debut in English football in May 2002, coming on as a substitute as Chelsea lost 3-1 to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge. His all-action displays encouraged Boro to splash the cash and, after a series of injury problems, Southgate will enjoy having a fully fit Huth in his squad.

Now he has moved to Stoke alongside Shawcross, Faye Ab, Collins and in front of Sorensen his day has arrived!!! Brilliant defender who can score a goal and can really dominate
