Keogh has generally had to go out on loan to find firstteam football of late, but is back in the southwest again and hoping to make the grade
Despite being a consistent centre-half who can match his rivals in terms of both power and defensive abilities, Keogh has found it hard to displace the Carey/McCombe combination at the heart of City’s back four.
Following Gary Johnson’s arrival, the Republic of Ireland U21 international initially spent loan spells at Wycombe and Huddersfield. During the 2006-07 season he was voted the Robins’ Young Player of the Year but failing to build on his success, he was shipped out again to Carlisle and Cheltenham during the club’s first season back in the Championship.
At Carlisle, he also showed his versatility, playing across the back line when needed.
