Midfielder

Tackling technique aside, without doubt one of the most technically gifted players to have ever been born English

The quiet man of United has let his sublime football do the talking during his long and distinguished career. Arguably the best English passer of the ball in the last decade, Scholes sets the rhythm of the United midfield.

His well-timed late runs from midfield and long-range shooting provide plenty of goals. Scholes came through the ranks with Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs to form the backbone of United’s side for more than 15 years.

His consistency has been astonishing: his talent was key during United’s double-win of 1995-96, and was just as evident as the club regained the league 12 years later.

He is a cracking player. His goals are quality and that season when Matty Taylor for pompey scored from just over the half way line, i did not vot for that goal of the season, i voted for Paul Schole's volley out side the box. His pass against Pompey on Wednesday night was one of the best iv'e seen from him this season.

I always believe in scholes, even in his worst time.
No celebrity bullshis! in the field always make every defender worry of his shoot.

He's lost his field vision a bit but overall his work-rate keeps him in the starting line-up or hovering on the bench. Though I get nervous with him as time goes on, I'd never leave him out of an important match.
