2007/08 was perhaps a season that Bendnter would care to forget, but he did show flashes of a player who could be of use to Arsene Wenger
The big Dane was loaned out to Birmingham for 2006-07, where his goals helped Blues to promotion.
He considered joining the club on a permanent basis, but having been promised a regular place in the Gunners squad for 2007-08 he returned to The Emirates.
While not a regular in the side, Bendtner’s size and aerial power was always a threat from the bench and he scored key goals against Tottenham and Aston Villa.
A player with good skills and movement, there remain concerns over his temperament – as those who witnessed his bust-up with Adebayor at Tottenham in the Carling Cup in January 2008 will testify.
