Defender

Already a captain and an international in his teens... what's on the agenda for Eardley in his twenties?

One of the most highly-rated defenders outside of the Premier League, Eardley has been a revelation at Oldham since making his debut for the club at the tail-end of the 2005/06 season and has already captained the Lactics on regular occasions despite his tender age.

The right-back won his first Wales cap in a friendly against Bulgaria in August 2007, starring as the Dragons won the match 1-0, and looks set for an extended run under John Toshack. Apparently being watched by Liverpool, Eardley was one of Oldham’s most consistent performers as they finished the 2007/08 season just outside of the League One play-off places.

Neal eardley is a player that SHOULD be in a top team it would wreck oldham to see him move but as we see week in week out he is a top class player and will one day captain wales as he is a true leader i agree he needs to work on a few things and if he does oldham will have a even hotter prospect on their hands

Excellent right-back, hardly anything gets past him down the wing. Likes to get forward and has a powerful, accurate shot on him. Needs to work on his passing, expecially long passing and his crosses could be better. He can play very well in the middle of midfield, scoring a few and creating a few as well. A very versatile player.
