full-back or midfielder who has represented England all the way up to U20. Phil Brown made former Derby youngster his first signing at Hull
Happy playing at right-back as well as in midfield, Doyle has won England recognition at every level from U16 to U20.
A product of Derby’s youth academy, he played 10 senior games at Pride Park before being loaned out to Notts County and Bradford City.
After former Rams boss Phil Brown was appointed in charge at the KC Stadium in December 2006 he made Doyle his first permanent signing, for £100,000, saying: “He’s a very intelligent, aggressive and combative midfield player.” Doyle scored his first goal for the Tigers in their 4-1 play-off semi-final win over Watford in May 2008.
