A former Millwall junior despite being born in Middlesbrough, Jarvis made his league debut for Gillingham in November 2003 against Sunderland and became a first-team regular two years later, catching the eye with his exploits from the left wing.
An all-round player who is right-footed, he poses a real threat cutting inside onto his stronger foot, often to devastating effect. Named in the 2007 PFA League One Team of the Year, he signed for Wolves that summer, but a hip injury restricted him to 17 league starts in his first season.
