Although in the 2007/08 season Flynn did not receive the first team play that he was hoping for, so he will be hoping to make a bigger impression next season
Having made the step up from the youth team at the end of the 2006/07 season, the young full-back spent 2007/08 on the fringes of the first team. The tall, athletic defender was sent out on loan to Warrington Town and Ashton United, where he scored twice in 12 appearances.
Despite not making it off the bench for Macclesfield during 2007/08, he showed enough to be offered an extension to his contract before the start of the 2008/09 campaign – perhaps because Flynn is highly regarded by youth team boss John Askey.
