Long-term back up, Duke spent the entire 2006/07 season sat on the bench. More than able to step up when called upon
In time-honoured English football tradition, Duke is known as ‘the Judge’ at the KC Stadium due to the amount of time he spends on the bench.
An able deputy for first-choice keeper Boaz Myhill, Duke enjoyed his most fruitful season to date for City in the promotion campaign of 2007/08, playing three league games. The previous term had seen him start all of the club’s 51 senior games among the substitutes.
A former Sheffield United player, he joined Hull from non-League Burton Albion for £60,000 in July 2004 and has had loan spells with Stockport County and Wycombe Wanderers.
