Attacking midfielder recalled to the Republic of Ireland squad by new boss Giovanni Trapattoni. QPR's longest-serving player
Rowlands joined Rangers from neighbouring Brentford in 2003 and the cultured midfielder has since emerged as one of the first names on the team sheet – indeed his free transfer must rank as one of Rangers’ best pieces of business in the past decade.
A central midfielder with good ball skills and technique, Rowlands’ attacking ability has twice seen him break the 10-goal barrier for the club.
Having started his career with non-league Farnborough, he moved to Griffin Park in August 1998, scoring 22 goals in 186 appearances. He is now QPR’s longest-serving player.
