Newly promoted West Brom netted themselves a bargain when they captured Slovakian left back Marek Cech in July 2008
The former Porto defender who has been a regular international and Champions League participant since 2005 cost the Baggies a mere £1.4 million.
After starting off at Inter Bratislava, the full back first left his home country to join Sparta Prague in 2004, impressing enough to earn himself a move to Porto where he won numerous honours and established himself as first choice in the national team.
Cech has won the Slovakian Championship, the Czech Championship and the Portuguese Championship and will be hoping to add Premiership survival to his list of achievements at the end of this season.
