Striker

Talented striker plagued by injury problems. Has vowed to make up for lost time with a hatful of goals this season

Tudgay came through the ranks at Derby County, making his debut in August 2002. In 59 starts for the club, he netted a productive 18 goals and earned plaudits for his fine hold-up play, ability to link well with the runners behind him and, most of all, his leap and aerial prowess.

He moved to Wednesday in January 2006, where his early goals helped to keep the club in the Championship, but he made the worst possible start to his first full season when he severed tendons in his foot after treading on glass at a family barbecue.

However, he still ended the campaign with 11 goals, often from the wide positions, and added a further eight goals in 2007/08.

Agree a lot with rivelinowl.

Loads of talent on him, maybe not scoring enough of his chances is what has put bigger clubs buying him. A little bit of a risk maybe. Though he's certainly a tricky player.

Fans are divided about Tudders. Personally I love his work-rate and attitude. His determination to chase down defenders on the ball rubs off on other players and sets a tone for the whole team. He's always capable of getting a goal or two, sometimes spectacularly and has always had a terrific partnership with Deon Burton - two unselfish players working really well together. So why does he get such stick? I suppose because for every goal he scores there's several more that he misses and his touch and general play lack the quality of someone like Burton so it can be frustrating when he loses possession etc. At one point last season h was geting more sick than anyone ele but then he went on a goalscoring streak and was suddenly being talked about as our best player and likely player of the season. Fan's eh?
