The England international has shone at The Riverside after joining the club following Charlton’s relegation from the Premier League in 2007.
The former Spurs trainee has offered an experienced outlet on the right hand side of the Boro backline and proved an invaluable presence as the club crept clear of relegation during the 2007-08 season.
The London-born England international scored his first goal for Boro against his former club Spurs in November 2007 – a glorious 30-yard strike that was a contender for goal of the season. Riverside regulars will be hoping that there’s plenty more to come.
He moved on to Aston Villa after just a year in the northeast.
