Twenty-year-old goalkeeper Luke Daniels will be looking to get his career back on track this season having completed a loan move to Paul Simpson’s Shrewsbury
After a highly promising start to his career in which he played for Manchester United’s academy and England’s junior teams, Daniels was released by the Red Devils in 2004.
West Brom was the next stop for the young goalkeeper, signing on after a successful trial period. His impressive form for the Baggies’ reserves brought further England junior recognition but not a place in the first team squad, so his next move was on loan to SPL club Motherwell.
After making two appearances in six months Daniels returned to the midlands in pre-season where West Brom’s capture of Scott Carson has pushed him even further down the pecking order. He will be hoping a run of first team football at Shrewsbury will catapult him into Tony Mowbray’s plans.
