Having spent time as Arsenal's third choice keeper, Fabianski will hope Jens Lehmann's departure will see him move up the pecking order
The Poland international arrived in North London from Legia Warsaw in May 2007 and was subsequently made the club’s ‘Carling Cup keeper’.
He kept clean sheets in his first two appearances in the competition – against Newcastle and Sheffield United – although his best performance came at Blackburn Rovers, where he caught the eye as a fine shot stopper.
He finally made his Premier League debut against Derby County in April 2008 and he kept the shirt for the final two games of the season, but it remains to be seen whether he has done enough to displace Manuel Almunia.
