Boyhood QPR fan Cook has returned to his roots for a third spell at Loftus Road, where he'll hope to lead a promotion charge
Hammersmith born Cook started out at non-League Aylesbury, before being snapped up by Watford in 1999.
He had to wait two years to make his Hornets debut, which came as a substitute against Grimsby Town in April 2001. His early progress was severely hampered by a knee injury that ruled him out for a year.
Cook spent the bulk of 2002/03 on loan at York City and later QPR. He returned to Vicarage Road in March 2003 with Ian Holloway desperate to keep him at Loftus Road but Ray Lewington had different ideas, using the winger in 45 matches through the 2003/04 season.
However Holloway eventually got his man in the summer of 2004, with Cook joining his boyhood club on a free transfer.
He was the star of a usually struggling Hoops side, playing over 120 matches in three years with the Championship side.
A move to premier League Fulham followed in 2007, but he spent the final stages of the 2007/08 season on loan at Charlton, having failed to make a single appearance for the Cottagers, due in no small part to injury problems.
He returned to a by now cash-rich QPR for a third spell on a season long loan at the start of 2008/09.
