Striker

The prolific number 9 scores goals for fun...when he plays. So far he's found a run in the side at Ibrox hard to come by

The great enigma of Ibrox. A highly-prolific goalscorer for both Kilmarnock and Rangers since arriving from Rugby Park in January 2006, Boyd has never quite found favour under either Paul Le Guen or Walter Smith.

His finishing skills are deadly and his goals-to-games average easily outshines anyone else at the club (and indeed in the SPL), but Boyd’s overall work-rate, attitude and fitness levels have been continually open to question.

He featured less regularly in 2007-08, particularly in European games, and it remains to be seen whether Rangers are willing to continue overlooking his flaws in order to exploit his killer touch.

Me again with a different opinion. He cannot just walk out on scotland and expect to return when a new manager at a different standard than George Burley,Does the name Craig Levein spring to mind. He never got his full game against the 1-0 win against the Czechs. A goal machine Yes, Lazy Yes. I know one man and more that is a better forward that him.

A goal machine, who over the years has taken stick for his lack of work-rate, and lack of basics. However, in the last four-five months, Boyd has worked on his fitness, condition, and attitude. He has also improved his distribution, work-rate, touch, ability to hold up the ball, movement... and it's made him a better, and more reliable player. Hasn't affected his goal scoring, and he is now even more dangerous than before.
