A highly thought of and versatile midfielder, Gibbs impressed in a brief spell at Norwich and will hope to do so again in a Gunners shirt soon
Gibbs, who can play either in central midfield or wide on the left, joined Arsenal after Wimbledon’s academy disbanded when the Dons’ move to Milton Keynes.
He was a key figure in the Gunners’ FA Youth Cup run in 2006/07, scoring two goals as they went out to Manchester United in the semi-finals.
In January 2008 Gibbs had a spell on loan at Norwich City, making seven appearances.
Despite midfield being his preferred position, Gibbs impressed at left back in the summer of 2008 in a pre-season friendly against Juventus. He then made his competitive Gunners bow in that very position, in the 6-0 Carling Cup victory over Sheffield United in October 2008.
