Storming up the wing, the big fella's hoping to make a name for himself in Ghana – a country his mother represented with distinction
The big Londoner started his career with Bristol City in 2000 and emerged as a promising right-back characterised by rapid strides up the wing.
Unfortunately a serious car accident in March 2002 set him back and loan spells followed at Torquay and Cheltenham. He joined Yeovil Town for the 2005/06 after a successful loan spell and regular football helped his reputation grow to the point where he signed for Swansea City in July 2006. Initially a regular in the side, he found a starting place much harder to come by in 2007/08, making just four appearances. With the Swans on the way up, he joined Swindon in June 2008 and will be challenging hard for a first-team place.
If he reasserts himself as a first-team regular, he will hope to catch the eye of the Ghana national team scouts. Although born in north-west London, his full name of Kevin Kwaku Osei-Kuffour Amankwaah belies his family roots, and indeed he qualifies for the Black Stars through his parentage – his mother Rose represented the nation in the 4x400m at the 1974 Commonwealth Games.
