Having sustained a broken leg in his first season for the club, Brain came came back fighting and became the club's number 1 keeper
Signed from Port Vale at the start of the 2006/07 season, Brain sat out the majority of his first year as a Macclesfield Town player with a broken leg sustained in a match against Cheshire rivals Stockport County in November.
Having shown tremendous mental fortitude to bounce back, he made his long-awaited return to first team action in October 2007, quickly displacing Tommy Lee as Macc’s number one keeper. At 6ft 4in, Brain is a commanding presence and an ace shot stopper capable of pulling off some quite spectacular saves, although his kicking does let him down.
