Not able to show his full potential at Norwich, his form for Peterborough got him named in the England squad in no time
Lewis enjoyed a memorable second half to the 2007/08 after signing for Peterborough from the club at which he began his career, Norwich. The goalkeeper had waited patiently for a first team opportunity to present itself at Carrow Road, spending time on loan at both Stockport and Morecombe, before Darren Ferguson splashed the cash to bring him to London Road for a fee of £400,000 in January 2008.
He made an immediate impression as the Posh blazed a trail towards promotion and ended the season as a surprise call-up to Fabio Cappello’s England squad.
