Having also turned out as an emergency striker and a full-back during Brian Laws’ tenure at Hillsbrough, by the end of the 2007/08 season, he had racked up nearly 50 appearances in 15 months at the club.
Johnson started his career with Tivoli Gardens in Kingston, Jamaica, enjoying loan spells at Bolton and Oldham, before joining Bradford City in 2006 and making the step-up to League One with ease. By the summer of 2008, he had won 40 caps for his country.
