Aliadiere looks to have finally overcome his injury problems but now he needs to score goals more regularly to live up to his early promise
He was described as ‘one of the best strikers to have come out of Clairefontaine “in the last 10 years’ by legendary academy’s head coach. So when Jeremie Aliadiere joined Arsenal as a 16 year old it was evident that there were huge expectations of him from everyone at the club.
However unlike his former Gunners team-mate Thierry Henry, Aliadiere has still not been able to fulfil his promising talent. Injuries restricted him to just 19 appearances with just a solitary goal to his name in a league game against West Brom in August 2002.
Despite loan spells at Wolves, West Ham and Celtic Aliadiere decided to leave Arsenal to join Middlesbrough in the summer of 2007 for £2 million. He did manage to make 28 appearances for the club in his first full season for Boro but only scored 5 goals in the process.
