A winger who works hard, can cut inside and loves to deliver a good cross? Must have come from Middlesbrough, then
A hard-working, right-sided wide man who made his debut for Middlesbrough at the tender age of 17, Morrison came through the club's acclaimed Academy. But despite making his debut so early, Morrison had to wait another two years to become a first-team regular, delivering several eye-catching performances as Boro reached the 2006 UEFA Cup Final.
In August 2007, he joined West Brom for an initial £1.5 million, and scored six times in 35 starts during his first season. Compared to the traditional idea of a line-hugging winger he tends to cut inside quite a bit, but can still deliver a good cross.
Despite representing England at every level up to U20 and being mooted as a candidate for the senior team, in 2007 Morrison pledged his future to Scotland and made his debut in May 2008 against the Czech Republic.
