What's that you say, sir? A young English talent emanating from the Arsenal youth ranks? A clerical error, surely?
Wilshere should be well versed in Arsenal’s style of football, having been at the club and under Arsene Wenger’s guidance since he was nine year old.
An unyielding, committed yet highly creative midfielder, Wilshere made headlines with his displays in the pre-season of 2008, scoring against Stuttgart and then not looking out of his depth against Juventus and Real Madrid in the Emirates Cup.
Definitely one for the future, but if Wenger’s handling of Theo Walcott is anything to go by, he may need to be patient.
