Up like a salmon at the back stick, it's the Icelandic forward who has yet to truly make his mark in the top flight
Helguson was Watford’s record signing when he joined the club for £1.5m during their first season in the Premier League in 1999/2000.
After a successful spell at Norwegian side Lillestrom, the Icelandic international invariably weighed in with goals at Vicarage Road but injuries curtailed his appearances. Strong in the air and with a good leap despite being only 5ft 10in tall, Helguson scored 20 goals during 2004/05 before joining Fulham. His work rate and finishing ability made him popular at Craven Cottage but he was not always a regular and moved on to Sammy Lee’s Bolton in summer 2007.
Helguson showed promise when he did play during 2007/08 but persistent injuries restricted him to just eight appearances.
After his dissapointing spell at Bolton, Helguson was loaned out initially to QPR in November 2008 where he impressed the club's manager, Paulo Sosa. The deal was made permanent in the 2009 winter transfer window.
