Spirited Australian is famous for scoring a last-gasp goal against Tranmere to save his previous club MK Dons from relegation
Edds joined Rovers in June 2008 on a two-year deal after being released by newly-promoted MK Dons.
Ironically the whole-hearted Australian defender is best known for a last gasp goal against Tranmere on the final day of the 2004/05 season.
Edds’ strike with just six minutes remaining ensured that MK Dons avoided relegation and earned the Aussie hero status in the club’s new home town.
Edds began his career at Nottingham Forest and enjoyed spells at Swindon and Bradford before making more than 150 appearance for Pete Winkelman’s side.
He had found his opportunities at MK Dons limited as they celebrated promotion from League Two under Paul Ince.
