Yeehaa! USA international is a rootin' tootin' right back who learnt his trade at Arsenal under the tutelage of Le Professor Wenger
Missouri-born Simek moved to London as a 12-year-old and was signed by Arsenal, for whom he made his Gunners debut in a League Cup game against Wolves in December 2003.
It proved to be his only appearance, however, and after loan spells at QPR and Bournemouth, he arrived at Hillsborough in the summer of 2005.
Having ousted crowd favourite Lee Bullen from the right-back position with a series of athletic, hard-working appearances, he signed a new contract in July 2007.
A full USA international who is happy to get forward and join the attack, he was linked with a £2m move to Aston Villa in summer 2008.
