Striker

While on loan in Belgiam, Campbell was re-named ‘Super Campbell’. Who says the Belgian’s don’t have a sense of humour…? Probaby nobody

Born in Huddersfield, Campbell joined the Manchester United Academy in July 2004, making an instant impact by scoring 14 goals in 22 games for the Under-18s in his first year with the club.

Campbell spent 2006/07 on loan at United’s sister club Royal Antwerp, rattling in 21 goals in 33 games for the Belgian side.

Expectations were naturally raised by his exploits on the continent, and he made his competitive bow for United in August 2007 as United lost at Manchester City. Two months later he moved to Hull on a three-month loan deal.

Scoring twice on his debut against Barnsley, Campbell quickly became a fans favourite at the KC Stadium as Hull mounted an unexpected push for promotion to the Premier League as three months became eight.

Campbell finished the season as The Tigers’ top scorer and teed-up the Dean Windass’ volley that won the Playoff final for the Humberside club.

Returning to Old Trafford with the ambition of breaking into the Champions' first XI, Campbell was loaned out to Spurs as part of the deal that saw Dimitar berbatov move the other way for £30.75 million on the last day of the August 2008 transfer window.

Decent young player but don't think he will be anything more then a decent midtable striker at a club like Sunderland, Wigan or Hull. Fairly quick, perhaps needs to bulk up, a good finisher.

Talented, but still very much a work in progress. I think stories of Man United wanting to recall him or potentially using him as a Tevez replacement are well wide of the mark. He'd struggle to hold down a regular place at Spurs if signed permanently. Pace to spare, reasonable technique and a good eye for goal, but not really outstanding in any regard.
