Hall is a player with Premier League pedigree. Exudes a commanding presence in both defence and midfield
A former Barnet youth-teamer, Hall dropped into non-league circles with Chesham United under the management of Bob Dowie.
His performances then caught the eye of Bob’s brother Iain, who signed the midfielder for Oldham in the 2002 close season.
Within a year he had moved to Premier League Southampton for £250,000, carving out a name for himself as a tall, quick, no-nonsense centre-half (and owner of the ingenious nickname ‘One Size’, as in ‘One Size Fitz Hall’).
Though the move to St Mary’s didn’t quite work out, he rejoined Dowie at Crystal Palace at the beginning of the 2004/05 season and was pitched straight back into the top-flight.
Back in the Championship, Hall was appointed skipper before joining Wigan Athletic in June 2006.
He arrived at Rangers in January 2008 and was an influential figure in the club’s revival in the second half of the season.
