Having cost £50,000 the 'Dutch Roy Keane' is probably closing in on a pound a tackle for the Swans
Bodde was signed from Swansea’s Dutch sister club Den Haag for £50,000 in June 2007, having made over 160 appearances in seven years.
A fiercely competitive central midfielder, strong in the tackle and with the ability to run all day, Bodde was known as ‘the Dutch Roy Keane’ at his first club. And Swans fans soon discovered why when he was red-carded twice in his debut season at the Liberty Stadium.
Despite that setback, he emerged as one of the driving forces behind the club’s promotion to the Championship in 2007/08 and during the summer of 2008 he was linked with a move to Derby County.
