Well-travelled for a relative youngster, Horwood has dissolved his quickie Gretna marriage and hopes to settle in Carlisle
Under contract until 2010, Hartlepudlian Horwood is already well-travelled for such a young player: when he signed for the Blues in the January transfer window in 2008, the Cumbrians became the eighth club of his short but busy professional career.
An adventurous left-sided defender, Horwood started out with Sheffield United as a trainee in 2004 and had loan spells at Stockport, Scunthorpe, York, Chester and Darlington before signing for Scottish Premier League newcomers Gretna in August 2007. The youngster made 15 SPL starts for the doomed Anvils before returning to England, signing for Carlisle on a free transfer.
