Possibly not the most popular player with the Arsenal faithful, Eboue has struggled to adapt to his move to the right of midfield
Signed from Belgian feeder club Beveren in 2005, Eboue replaced the injured Lauren at right-back midway through his first season at the club, and retained his place for 18 months until Arsene Wenger brought in Bacary Sagna in the summer of 2007.
While drawing criticism from Arsenal fans for his apparent willingness to collapse theatrically at every opportunity, he did a solid job at right-back, showing a willingness to attack as much as defend.
Primarily a full-back, he was deployed as a right midfielder for much of 2007-08, but the Ivory Coast international drew criticism for some largely ineffective performances.
