Defensive midfielder renowned for his ball winning capabilities. Staff at Tynecastle have high hopes for the Icelandic international
A classy defensive midfielder who is happy to drop back to central defence when required, the young Icelander is a dynamic ball-winner who has grown in confidence and composure since arriving at Hearts as a 16-year-old in July 2005.
Now an international, Jonsson has become a vital part of the Hearts team despite his youth, putting in a series of outstanding displays in 2007-08.
He recently signed a long-term deal tying him to the club until 2012, and his progress will be closely observed by bigger clubs.
