Having had his debut season in England and Euro 2008 dream wrecked by THAT injury, Eduardo is well on the road to recovery...
Brazilian-born Eduardo caught the eye of Arsene Wenger following his exploits for the Croatian national team. A record of 13 goals in 22 internationals prompted the Arsenal boss to splash out £7.5m on his services in July 2007.
After initially struggling to hold down a regular place in the side, by Christmas he had established himself in Wenger’s plans. A run of seven goals in eight games had many comparing the striker to Robbie Fowler in his pomp: a magic wand of a left foot, silky movement and an eye for a goal. A much-publicised compound leg fracture and dislocated ankle ended his season prematurely in February 2008.
